We thought we were excited when we heard there was going to be a 22 Jump Street but we almost fell over today when it was announced that 23 Jump Street is likely to be going into production. Sony Pictures and Original Film are believed to have already started work on the latest in the franchise which stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. The sequel saw the officers going undercover in a college as they tried to crack a crime ring with brilliant consequences. By creating an account, you verify that you are at least 13 years of age, and have read and agree to the Comicbook. The 21 Jump Street franchise might've been away for a minute, but it seems it is far from dead, as 24 Jump Street is reportedly in the works. That might seem odd, since the movies that have released thus far are 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street , so the next logical step would be 23 Jump Street. So, it seems there are two sequels in development, though 24 is taking priority at the moment. The franchise was also linked to a Men In Black crossover project, but that never materialized and now the Men In Black franchise is back with Men In Black International starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, so it doesn't seem high on the priority list at the moment. As for what 24 or 23 Jump Street will be about, who knows, but we do know the franchise will never take itself too seriously, and that's part of the fun. That 21 Jump Street starred Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the lead roles, and did quite well at the box office, especially when you consider its budget.

It's Happening! '23 Jump Street' Announced

Jump Street is an American multimedia franchise that commenced in The franchise concerns the lives of the Jump Street program, an undercover police unit in which young-looking detectives infiltrate schools and similar settings attended by minors to investigate crimes. The series is a spin-off of 21 Jump Street and the second installment of the 21 Jump Street franchise.

Since then, the studio has been trying to settle on a way to continue the franchise, and came surprisingly close to crossing it over with the Men in Black movies at one point. It appears Sony is now working on a more traditional followup, in addition to a spinoff that could end up starring Tiffany Haddish and Awkwafina. However, according to Lord, the sequel in question isn't 23 Jump Street, as one would expect. When asked to clarify what that means, Lord simply said "We're reserving 23 Jump Street". Seeing as Lord and Miller have rarely if ever played by the rules, it's all the more fitting that they're making the next two Jump Street movies in reverse order, so to speak. The previous two films in the series were chock-full of meta jokes about their own existence, culminating with 22 Jump Street 's terrific end credits, where the titles and posters for several fake Jump Street sequels are revealed including, appropriately enough, 24 Jump Street: Foreign Exchange Students.

By Petr Knava Industry January 11, Obviously neither 21 nor 22 Jump Street are great works of art, or even perfect comedies, but they are eminently quotable, restless to the point of bursting, and surprisingly sweet at times. They were also the catalysts for my changing opinion on one Channing Tatum , helping to metamorphose my view of him from that of the vacuous lunkhead Charming Potato to a genuinely appealing screen presence with deceptively great comic timing. More than anything else though the Jump Street movies make me laugh. A lot. Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller know how to work and finesse those scripts and to manage their actors to deliver a pretty great mix of highbrow and lowbrow humour. A side note here: While watching 22 Jump Street with my girlfriend not too long ago, she said something that caused a little identity crisis within me.
