Have you ever tried Smoked Beer Can Chicken? Well, if you have a smoker, a few tools like a beer can chicken holder, a meat thermometer, some dry rub and premade marinade, smoking beer can chicken is super easy to do! You can use a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker. You can read my smoker review here. This was my go to smoker for Smoked Beer Can Chicken until we finally wore it out.

One of my favorite dish, by far, would be the Beer Can Chicken. Similar to many of the other recipes you'll find on the net, my has some variation to the traditional beer in a can and dry rub. Although I've tried cooking with a variety of different beer, but I think the flavor the beer impart is not significant. It's really the cooker and it's ability to retain moisture that count the most. I do like the flavor of added alcohol Canadian Whiskey in the dry rub mixture and in the soda pop with about a shot or two of whiskey in the Soda can. Beer Can Chicken is all the rage and it should be. The chicken comes out so incredibly moist ever time and the method is as ingenious as it is simple. Oh, and it involves BEER! How to Make Smoked Beer Can Chicken

First, fire up your Kamado Joe. I tend to use two starter cubes and leave the lid and bottom dampener open for about fifteen minutes. Once you get a good glow going, use your coal rake to evenly spread out the coals, close your lid but leave the flu open. Once your Kamado Joe gets to around degrees, put in your heat shield and grill rack. Your temperature should stay around degrees. Open your beer and pour about half of it out or drinking it is the more popular option. Stuff your half full beer can with the fresh herbs and garlic cloves.
