A woman's comments that an African-American female news reporter in Dallas "looks ridiculous" in her clothes has sparked outrage on social media. The post has since been taken down. The woman also said she would stop watching the news channel. Obilor, 26, has been a traffic reporter at the station for two weeks.

She declined to elaborate further on why Roundtree was fired, saying TEGNA — a Virginia company that runs 49 television stations nationwide — does not comment on personnel matters. But Roundtree's lawyer said TEGNA told them they let the anchor go because of questions raised in a recent Times article about the news anchor's professional ethics in using his close personal friendship with a local criminal defense attorney to land an interview with his client in a high-profile shooting case. Roundtree disputes that he acted improperly, said his lawyer Wil Florin. Florin provided the Times with a letter dated Jan. TEGNA disputed that assertion.

Reached by the Times following his termination Friday, Roundtree deferred comment to Florin. Station management told him the termination was in response to a recent Times article that raised questions about Roundtree's ethics in obtaining an interview with Michael Drejka, Florin said. Drejka faces a manslaughter charge after he shot Markeis McGlockton last year in a shooting that touched off a national debate about self-defense. However, Roundtree and Florin maintained in the interview with Gorman that any ethical concerns are just cover for the real explanation — age discrimination against Roundtree and others at the station. The allegations are contained in a complaint Roundtree filed last month with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. TEGNA declined to elaborate. Roundtree rejected any allegations of ethical violations regarding his interview with Drejka, saying station management was aware of his friendship with John Trevena, Drejka's attorney.
The termination follows a bizarre legal dispute involving prominent Pinellas defense attorney John Trevena. The revelations raised questions about Roundtree's journalistic ethics. Bentley declined to elaborate, saying TEGNA — based in Virginia and with 49 television stations nationwide — doesn't comment on personnel matters. Roundtree, 60, had worked for CBS-affiliate WTSP more than 20 years, according to his online biography, most recently as the night news anchor. Substitute anchors have been filling in for Roundtree on news broadcasts and he has been sharing golfing images this week with his 3, Facebook followers. The woman, Deena Covell, is the sister of Roundtree's wife Tree. Trevena is representing Michael Drejka, the man who shot and killed an unarmed Markeis McGlockton after McGlockton pushed Drejka down in a dispute over a convenience store parking space.
Like many another young lass of her physical and verbal endowments, fair Catherine was a local news anchor. She introduced the sports guy, made merry with the weather guy. Unfortunately, she journeyed last year to Key West, Fla. One, Catherine and her mate were observing the first anniversary of their union. And she had also had open-heart surgery. That was bad enough. Worse, the contest degenerated if, in fact, a wet T-shirt contest is elevated enough in the first place to be susceptible to degeneration into an informal strip-tease competition.
