Have you ever said something out of anger that you later regretted? Do you let fear talk you out of taking the risks that could really benefit you? If so, you're not alone. Emotions are powerful. Your mood determines how you interact with people, how much money you spend , how you deal with challenges, and how you spend your time. Gaining control over your emotions will help you become mentally stronger.

I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them. Being an emotional person and leading with the heart can both be great qualities. Leaning into our feelings allows us to be more self-aware and helps connect us to others. But if we allow our emotions to dictate how we live our lives, it can lead to anxiety, depression, and even have a negative impact on our health and relationships. It took me many years to grasp the concept that all emotions stem from thought. My emotions had officially taken control of my life. At the time I had no idea that each negative thought was having a compound effect on how I viewed myself and my life.

Emotions play a very important role in the communication that happens between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Whenever something goes wrong your subconscious mind will send you some bad emotions in order to let you change direction and whenever it finds you moving on the right track it will send you positive emotions so that you continue doing whatever you are doing. Now the question is, if emotions are that useful why would someone want to become numb? Its because we sometimes experience emotions that are totally useless. Lets suppose that you went to a job interview and had to wait for 3 days for the result. Won't you worry throughout those 3 days? But will worrying in that case do anything good to you?

In psychology , emotional detachment is the inability to connect to others on an emotional level, as well as a means of coping with anxiety by avoiding certain situations that trigger it. It may be a temporary reaction to highly emotional circumstances or a chronic condition such as a depersonalization disorder. Emotional detachment can be a positive behavior which allows a person to react calmly to highly emotional circumstances. Emotional detachment in this sense is a decision to avoid engaging emotional connections, rather than an inability or difficulty in doing so, typically for personal, social, or other reasons. In this sense it can allow people to maintain boundaries, psychic integrity and avoid undesired impact by or upon others, related to emotional demands. As such it is a deliberate mental attitude which avoids engaging the emotions of others.

    Ok I don't recommend this, and it might not work for you. But it helped me get over my depression, and probably saved my life. I feel emotions in.
