It's important to learn how to replace your car's taillight bulbs because they, and every bulb on the outside of your car, have an important safety function. If both brake or taillights go out, then that's just an accident waiting to happen, especially in the dark. Consider bulb-checking part of a series of simple maintenance functions you should perform on your vehicle on a regular basis. The bulbs for all of your red, white, and yellow lights are hidden behind a colored lens. In most cars and trucks they're all in one place, but some vehicles used a few separate lens assemblies. First, you need to remove the lens housing from the car.

By simon31 , October 6, in Auris Club. I am talking about the part mounted on the car body, not the boot lid. I have sourced a replacement but cannot work out how to remove the old one, so am stuck. When you open the boot lid two screws are exposed and I have removed these, it looks like the light should now be free but is seems wedged in place. I cannot shift it and am nervous of using too much force in case I smash it apart it is currently working or damage the bodywork. Can anyone help

Reelin68 answered 4 years ago. Check on the left side of your steering for the fuse box. If not there, check the left kick panel by your left foot. The panel door usually has a schematic that tells you what each fuse does. If no brake fuse there, check the fuse box under the hood. You may have a bad tail light relay also.

In August , the ninth-generation Corolla was introduced in Japan, with edgier styling and more technology to bring the nameplate into the 21st century. Celica it's the relay switch drivers side pull cover back and just above the fuses is two red relay switches it's the one on the right I did it last night and then all light and dash lights came on. The relay behind the glove box was out of the socket and I had to push it in to make the connection. My Matrix tail light would not work. Fuse was okay and bulbs were new.
