The restaurant may be sparkling new but the food is the tried and tested fare that has made Joey D's a household name in Southwest Florida. The adjacent dining room was equally crowded, and the buzz of many conversations filled the air. The kitchen and separate pizza prep areas were also a hive of activity, but the operation seemed to be running smoothly. Ownership of the restaurants is closely held; DiPascale opened his first location on Immokalee Road just out of college, 19 years ago. Why open a restaurant here, and why now?
