The Universe is all of space and time [a] and their contents,  including planets , stars , galaxies , and all other forms of matter and energy. While the spatial size of the entire Universe is unknown,  it is possible to measure the size of the observable universe , which is currently estimated to be 93 billion light-years in diameter. The inflation of the universe slowed after the first initial burst, but since then, the rate of expansion has been steadily increasing due to the influence of dark energy. Cosmologists estimate that the oldest photons that we can observe have traveled a distance of billion light-years since the Big Bang. That means that our observable universe is some 93 billion light-years wide give or take a few light-years.

So if it's ballooning, what is it growing into?
